The Vegetarian Diet

Different types of vegetarian diets:

  • Lacto-vegetarians eat plant foods plus dairy products
  • Lacto-ovo vegetarians eat both dairy products and eggs
  • Semi-vegetarians usually eats vegetarian, but occasionally eats meat, or someone who doesn't eat red meat but eats other meats.
  • Vegans avoid all animal products — no dairy, no eggs — and eat only vegetables, fruits, and grains
  • Raw-food vegetarians eat uncooked.
