Bad Girls Guide to Good Health

I was watching the Today Show this morning and jumped for joy when I found out that my bad habits of drinking beer, getting pissed, chewing gum like a cow and surfing the internet can actually be beneficial for my health. Yay! Now, if I can just add smoking a cigarette while drinking a glass of wine while sunbathing to that list, I would be golden.

1. Get pissed

Getting a little pissed can actually be good for you - go figure. If you keep things bottled up it may cause stress that leads to problems like obesity, bone los and heart disease. So, get pissed, curse, yell at that guy driving like a maniac on the freeway and feel better in the long run.

2. Drink coffee

I started drinking coffee in the morning on the way to work, which actually did give me the burst of energy I needed to get through the day. But, besides energy, a daily cup of coffee may also minimize your risk for Parkinson's disease, cancer, and type 2 diabetes. So, drink up!

3. Drink beer!

That's right. I got the go ahead to drink beer on a hot summer day, or any day for that matter. Research shows that drinking a beer could even be better than fighting heart disease than my beloved red wine. Beer also has high levels of vitamin B6 and other good stuff that can help strengthen our bones. Good brews to try are pale ales.

4. Surf the Internet

So, all that time I spend online surfing sites can actually be helping my brain and make decisions. A new study at the University of California at Los Angeles found that just one week of frequent Web browsing can enhance your brain's complex-reasoning hubs. Now, if I can just convince my work that all my time checking out Facebook is actually making me a better employee.

5. Chew gum

Not only can chewing gum keep you slim and trim, but recent research also shows that chewing gum can improve your short- and long-term memory. So, chew that gum – just try not to do it so loudly.
