Halloween is right around the corner and what better way to get in the spooky spirit then with some fun and frightful foodie events featured right here in Santa Monica. Check out my favorites below.

Stop by the farmers market and pick up a pumpkin to decorate. Choose from small, large and everything in between. Just don’t drop it, or all you’ll have is squash instead.
Halloween Celebration at The Market

Where: The Market (3rd level Dining Deck), Santa Monica Place
Lots of activities and entertainment for children, plus specials throughout The Market, including “Make Your Own Caramel Apple” at the Gourmandise Cooking School. Dip and decorate your apple ($5 an apple) in sweet or salty caramel, and for extra goodness lots of toppings on hand like coconut macadamia.

Where: O'Briens Irish Pub & Restaurant, 2941 Main St
The Halloween Pub Crawl starts at O’Briens Irish Pub & Restaurant in Santa Monica and features the world’s largest Halloween Costume Contest - 10 cities, 10,000 people, $10,000 in prizes. Here is how it works. First, you buy a ticket for the day you want to go. Then, check-in at O’Briens and you’ll receive a map with bar locations, and when they're participating in the drink specials. *Costumes are encourages, must be 21 years old and please do not drive if you plan on drinking.
